Print an integrated label and packing slip

Use Integrate Shipping Labels onto Packing Slip to combine the first 100 × 150 mm shipping label with an A4 packing slip. This is useful for integrated-label stationery with a peel-off label area.

Example layout with sample details. Your template and label position can differ; check a plain-paper print against your stationery.

Before you begin

  • Make sure you can edit your account's packing slip settings.
  • Choose an A4 packing slip template. In New custom template editor, choose an A4 Template size, such as A4 portrait. The 100x150 portrait option creates a label-sized packing slip and is unsuitable for this combined A4 layout.
  • Set your courier's shipping-label format to 100 × 150 mm. This is a separate setting from the packing slip's template size.
  • Use an A4 printer and plain A4 paper for your first check. Confirm the generated layout fits your stationery before buying or using integrated-label stock.

You must enable both automatic packing-slip printing and Integrate Shipping Labels onto Packing Slip. Enabling automatic printing alone prints the documents together in the workflow, without combining them on one sheet.

Enable integrated labels

  1. Go to Settings > Packing slips.
  2. Under Packing slips, select an A4 template. If you use New custom template editor, set Template size to an A4 option, such as A4 portrait, and use an A4 layout. Keep the shipping-label format at 100 × 150 mm.
  3. In the selected template's print settings, enable Automatically print packing slip with each label.
  4. Enable Integrate Shipping Labels onto Packing Slip.
  5. Select Save.

For template selection, customisation and barcode settings, see Configure packing slips.

Check the saved settings and printed output

  1. Reopen your packing slip settings and confirm both printing options are still enabled.
  2. Print the shipping label for an intended shipment to plain A4 paper first. Start with a short packing slip and one shipping label.
  3. Check that the shipping label and packing slip appear together. Check the label's position, rotation and scale, and make sure the barcodes and packing slip content are readable.
  4. Compare the test print with the peel-off area on your stationery. Check the printer's paper size and scaling before printing on label stock.
  5. Check a longer order or any additional-label workflow before printing a batch, and confirm all pages reach the intended printer.

Understand the layout and limits

The first supported shipping label can share a page with the packing slip. Longer packing slips, additional shipping labels and other courier documents can require extra pages. A combined document is not a guarantee that every order will fit on one A4 sheet.

The output uses your DHL Express Commerce packing slip layout. Check a real generated document before selecting stationery; label placement and orientation must match the peel-off area you intend to use.

Troubleshooting

  • The packing slip is set to 100x150 portrait: change its Template size to an A4 option and use an A4 layout. Select Save, then reopen settings to confirm the size and both printing options saved. Changing the printer's paper size alone does not change a label-sized packing slip into an A4 template.
  • The label and packing slip remain separate: reopen settings and check that both printing options saved. Confirm the packing slip is A4 and the courier label is 100 × 150 mm. Extra courier documents or an unsuitable label format can prevent the expected combined output; test one shipment and contact Support with the courier and template you used if needed.
  • The output does not fit the peel-off area: check a plain-paper print against the stationery and review the printer's paper size and scaling.

FAQs

Can i reproduce an existing invoice layout or use any integrated-label paper?

The feature combines a shipping label with a DHL Express Commerce packing slip. It does not automatically reproduce an uploaded invoice layout or guarantee a particular label position. Test the generated output before choosing label stock.
