Overview

DHL Express Commerce now supports an estimator for "Duties, Taxes, and Other Regulatory Fees - Importing", when processing an order. 

How it works

The estimator takes into account product details in the shipment to enhance your ability to estimate and manage the total cost of your shipments, ensuring a transparent and hassle-free experience. You can enable this in your DHL Express Commerce profile..

1. Sign in to your DHL Express Commerce profile.
2. Navigate to Settings > Courier.
3. Go to DHL Express Settings > Advanced tab.
4. Scroll down to Estimated Tariff Rate Type.
5. From the drop-down menu, select your default pricing strategy for calculating duties and taxes.
6. Click Save.

Once the pricing strategy is selected, the Estimated Duties, Taxes, and Other Regulatory Fees (Importing) for supported countries will be displayed in the order details under the shipping breakdown.

Pricing strategy

Actual Rate
The actual rate will only be returned if the full import Harmonized System Code (HS Code) is provided. If the full HS Code is not provided, an error will be returned.

Highest Rate
If the full import Harmonized System code (HS Code) is provided, the actual rate will be returned. However, if the full import HS Code is not provided, the highest derived rate will be returned.

Center Rate
If the full import Harmonized System code (HS Code) is provided, the actual rate will be returned. However, if the full import HS Code is not provided, the measure of the centre (mode/average) derived rate will be returned.

Lowest Rate
If the full import Harmonized System code (HS Code) is provided, the actual rate will be returned. However, if the full import HS Code is not provided, the lowest derived rate will be returned.
