Overview

DHL Express Commerce offers DHL Express shipping rates at checkout for PrestaShop. When your customer reaches the checkout page, DHL Express Commerce will return a shipping quote.

About live rates at checkout

The destination address and the total weight of the cart are used to electronically return your DHL Express shipping rate, item dimensions are not supported.

Your customer can select the preferred shipping method and the order will be imported with this shipping method.

DHL’s Shipment charges are calculated according to the higher of actual or volumetric weight per piece and any piece may be re-weighed and re-measured by DHL to confirm this calculation. This may result in a higher price than displayed at the time of checkout.

1. Download and install DHL Express Commerce module in PrestaShop

1. Download extension file.
2. Log in to your Prestashop admin account. 
3. Go to Modules > Module Manager.
4. Click Upload a module.
5. Select the DEC module zip file.
6. Close the window dialog when the module is installed.

2. Generate your API key

1. Log in to DHL Express Commerce account, go to Settings, then select API.
2. If the API Key field is blank, click Regenerate, then click Save.
3. Copy the API key. You will need to enter this in Prestashop.

3. Configure DHL Express Commerce module in PrestaShop

1. Log in to your Prestashop admin account. 
2. Go to Modules > Module Manager.
3. Find Live Shipping Rates Module
4. Click Configure.
5. Click YES to enable.
6. Enter API key from DHL Express Commerce (Settings > API)
7. Leave API Source empty.
8. Click Save.

4. Enable DHL Express shipping rates via API

1. Log in to DHL Express Commerce, go to Settings, then select Checkout Rates.
2. Check the Enable advanced configuration box on the Settings tab.
3. Select the Contract Rates radio button for DHL Express.
4. Check the Enable International Rates.
5. Check required DHL Express products code. (Typically ECX and WPX)
6. Click Save.

5. Set Checkout Rates calculation method

1. Go to Settings > Checkout Rates
2. Select an option on how rates are calculated
   
   1. Single Package using sum of integration item weights
      
      • Sum up the total up the weight of all items in 1 package.
   2. Single Package using sum of integration item weights and integration item dimensions
      • This setting is not applicable to PrestaShop at this moment of time
        
   3. Single Package using default package weight and default dimensions
      • Ignore weights and dimensions from ecommerce platforms and always use the 1 default package set up in Settings > Package Setup
        
   4. Unique Package for each item using integration item weights and integration item dimensions
      • This setting is not applicable to PrestaShop at this moment of time
